After last Friday’s flag hoisting ceremony in the town hall square, accompanied by the music group Tanxugueiras, on Tuesday, March 7 at 12:00, Age Group registration for the Grand Final of the World Series, Pontevedra, were opened, an event that will go down in the history of Spanish sport, since for the first time, the most important event in world triathlon will be held in our country.
The price of registration, as in the case of the Ibiza Multi-Sport World Cup and the European Championship in Madrid, is subsidised with a discount of up to 50% by Fetri (an automatic discount already included in the registration form).
Pontevedra will be honored to receive the best triathletes in the world from all corners of the planet, thus becoming the world epicenter of triathlon during the days of the competition, from September 20th to 24th, 2023.
“Pontevedra has shown on multiple occasions that it has everything to host top-level triathlon events. We’re excited to be back here for the World Series Final. This city is known to be a fantastic host of multiple events on the World Triathlon calendar, and I’m sure it will be more than ready to welcome the world’s best triathletes,” said World Triathlon president and IOC member Marisol Casado.
The World Series Final is the crown jewel of the annual world triathlon calendar and Pontevedra picks up the baton this year from Abu Dhabi, where the Grand Final in 2022 was hosted. In the Galician city, the World Champions of Triathlon, Elites, U23 and Paratriathlon will be crowned, as well as the world champions of Olympic distance, Super Sprint and Aquabike by Age Groups.
