Pontevedra publishes the location of the main event locations of the Grand Final

The map has an interactive version on the web

The LOC of the World Series Grand Final in Pontevedra has published its map of main locations, which are distributed mainly over two urban areas: the surroundings of Tirantes Bridge and the Town Hall (Plaza do Concello) area, in the center of the city.

The map, in Galician, Spanish and English, is already included in various items distributed throughout the city and has an interactive version on the web, which you can access here.

The race area itself has its epicenter around the bridge, which will be centre stage and start for the races and transitions of the elite, U23 and paratriathlon races, in spaces located on Bos Aires Avenue. The nearby stadium of the Galician Center for Sports Technification (CGTD) will be the operation center of the sports organisation, as it includes the general offices, the press center, the award ceremonies and the finish line of all the races.

Also very close is the University Sports Pavilion, dedicated to the Age Group athletes, both for their recovery after the races and the bag drop. On the other side of the river are the Pazo da Cultura cultural centre (coordination centre and racing briefings) and the Recinto Ferial centre, which is dedicated to bike rental and storage.

As for the central part of the city, there are more official and leisure areas, such as those dedicated to the opening, closing, and age group awards ceremonies. One of the hearts of the competition will be the Expo area or athletes’ fair, which will include important zones such as the race kit pickup and registration, athletes information service, the lost and found office and space for technical sessions, in addition to the stalls where participants will find interesting products for sale.

The stage which will be used for the festivities and some ceremonies will be located in front of the council building and the logistics and exhibition space in a marquee installed along Montero Ríos Avenue.

The organisation of the event and the city council itself recommends natural mobility, i.e. on foot or by bike, to move between the different areas of the championship and accommodation in the city those days, not only because the urban space is pedestrianised, but also because walking and cycling is way more comfortable and practical for all the foreseeable commutes between hotels, stations and points of interest of the event.

As for motorised traffic, campervans will be allowed access to spaces close to the competitions (the usual campervan spots) and cars can park in car parks near the river and CGTD stadium. These parking spaces are reserved for people who really need them, especially for paratriathlon competitions, and can be used with authorisation.
